The South London Gallery will host an evening of live sound and audiovisual performances on June 3 as part of the national tour by cultural agency Diasporas Now.
The event, titled “Macrocosmic Futures,” features new work by artists Hannan Jones, Tiff Wellington, Omí and Emma Korantema. Drawing on Afrofuturism, speculative fiction and ancestral technologies, the performance aims to imagine alternative futures beyond colonial and extractive systems. The participating artists will use sound, body, ritual and image to explore connections between personal histories and wider political and ecological themes.

Diasporas Now is a live art community and cultural agency that champions artists of the Global Majority through performance incubation, institutional residencies, curated programming and alternative arts education. The upcoming showcase at the Clore Studio is supported by Arts Council England.
The diverse line-up includes Glasgow-based Algerian-Welsh artist Hannan Jones, who uses electronics and analogue recordings to explore cultural migration, and South London multidisciplinary artist Emma Korantema, whose work explores Black philosophy, capitalist critique and liberation. London-based multidisciplinary artist Tiff Wellington will examine Afro-Caribbean diaspora histories through folklore and installation, while Jamaican-British, Italian and Brazilian musician Omí will present a transdisciplinary performance focusing on decolonial approaches to identity and memory.
The performance will run from 6:30pm to 9:30pm. Organisers have advised that the event features low lighting, loud volumes and flashing lights, and is not suitable for children. Standard tickets are priced at £5, with a limited number of free tickets reserved for low-income individuals.
