Leon Bridges has announced the release of his fifth studio album, titled “Happiness Anytime,” scheduled for September 25 via Columbia Records, per ratedrnb.com.
To coincide with the announcement, the Grammy-winning progressive R&B singer and Fort Worth native has released the project’s first four tracks: “Light the Way,” “Tears of Joy,” “Illusion” and “Your Love Is Electric.”
The 12-track collection was co-produced by Bridges alongside J Lloyd-Watson and Lydia Kitto, members of the British electronic-soul trio Jungle. The collaboration developed across three studio sessions following multiple meetings between the artists at various music festivals.
According to promotional materials, the album integrates diverse sonic influences, drawing inspiration from Afrobeat pioneer Fela Kuti, Paul Simon’s rhythmically diverse work and Brazilian musician Jorge Ben. Bridges stated that the project is intended to offer a sense of light and enduring positivity amid global challenges.
“Happiness Anytime” will be available digitally as well as in physical formats including CD, cassette and vinyl. The project serves as the immediate follow-up to his self-titled 2024 album, Leon, which debuted at number five on the Billboard Top R&B Albums chart.
