Nigerian production duo Svnday Pack have joined forces with Nigerian-American singer DamiToTheWorld to release their collaborative EP Paper Airplanes, which examines the complexities of modern relationships.
The six-track project, released via ONErpm, draws on Svnday Pack’s blend of Afropop, alté and R&B influences shaped by their work between Lagos and London and roots in Nigeria, Kenya and the United States.
DamiToTheWorld contributes introspective songwriting informed by personal experiences of past relationships.
The EP opens with the title track “Paper Planes,” which uses the metaphor of folded notes sent into the air to depict attempts at reconnection after communication breaks down. Subsequent tracks chart different emotional stages, from recovery in “Superhuman” and strained dynamics in “Empires” to emotional fatigue in “Kenzilla”.
The project closes with “Winner Man,” which leans into gratitude, and “Drama,” which revisits recurring cycles of inconsistency.
DamiToTheWorld described the writing process as a way to process unfinished real-life conversations.
