Nicki Minaj has announced the release date for her brand new single, “Freaky Girl”.
The song reportedly samples Rick James‘ “Super Freak”.
Taking to social media Nicki Minaj confirmed a new Queen Radio date on August 11 and revealed that “Freaky Girl” will drop a day later on August 12.
Hours ago on Twitter, Minaj intensified the hype surrounding her new song by tweeting: “#NickJames is coming to do what the girls SHOULD’VE done. #NickJames is coming to show the girls why they should’ve just sat there & ate their foods. #NickJames is coming to show the boys how to REALLY gag the girls. Pauz #NickJames is coming to restore hope in mankind.”
Minaj, Minaj is no stranger to alter egos, seemed to tease a possible new alter ego, Nick James, when posting about the song on Twitter.
She previously created the character Roman Zolanski, which was the subject of several songs. Minaj has described Zolanski as a gay man from London, England. This particular alter ego was on full display during the performance of “Roman Holiday” from the 54th Annual Grammy Awards in 2012.
