Netflix is set to release a retrospective documentary about Sylvester Stallone’s life and career titled “Sly” in November 2023. It is directed by Thom Zimny, who also directed Springsteen on Broadway, and produced by Sean Stuart.
Zimny’s other documentaries, include: Letter To You (2020), Western Stars (2019), The Gift: The Journey of Johnny Cash (2019), and
Elvis Presley: The Searcher (2018). The documentary will offer an intimate look at Stallone’s inspirational underdog-story and the iconic characters he has brought to life, paralleling his story with the characters he has played. Part retrospective and part Hollywood nostalgia, with exclusive access to Stallone himself, the documentary will explore the highs and lows of Stallone’s near 50-year Hollywood career, from Rocky to Rambo to The Expendables. “Sly” promises a candid Stallone, who admits to having regrets in his career.
