Kenny Sol drops ‘Godzilla,’ a danceable ode to desire

Kenny Sol has released “Godzilla,” a new single that blends Afrobeats rhythm with a direct narrative of attraction and romantic intensity.

Born Norbert Rusanganwa and based in Kigali, the Rwandan singer has established himself as one of Rwanda’s more prominent voices in contemporary Afrobeats, drawing on African rhythm patterns and a pop sensibility that has earned him an audience across East Africa. “Godzilla” marks a shift in register; looser, more playful and openly expressive.

The single opens with a chant that sets an immediate celebratory tone, anchoring a production designed for movement. Kenny Sol’s vocal delivery, relaxed and assured, centres on a woman whose presence commands his complete attention. The beat holds a consistent, dance-driven pulse that sustains the record’s forward momentum throughout.

Thematically, the song frames desire as something transformative, drawing out a bolder, less guarded version of himself. The production, steady and floor-ready, reinforces that emotional openness with a rhythm suited to live performance as much as to streaming.

“‘Godzilla’ is about that person who brings out a version of you that you don’t usually show,” Kenny Sol said. “When that happens, you just go with it and enjoy the moment.”

The track is now available across streaming platforms via ONErpm.
