CORA unveils cutting-edge Library & Resource Centre in Lagos Island

In celebration of the 25th anniversary of the Lagos Book & Art Festival (LABAF), the Committee for Relevant Art (CORA) will today inaugurate the CORA Library & Resource Centre (L&RC). Nestled in the vibrant CORAVille within Freedom Park, Lagos Island, this state-of-the-art facility is set to become a beacon of knowledge and creativity.

Scheduled for a grand unveiling on Friday, November 17, 2023, at 2:30 pm, the CORA L&RC aims to cultivate a love for education, enlightenment, and empowerment. Focused on fostering a literary culture, the center will host various literary activities, including the flagship CORA BOOKTrek and literacy campaigns engaging authors directly with their readers.

More than a mere repository of books, the CORA L&RC is envisioned as a hub for literary improvement. Regular workshops and seminars on writing, reading, and speechmaking will be conducted, providing a platform for aspiring writers and book enthusiasts to hone their skills.

The project, made possible through the unwavering support of organizations and individuals, enjoys backing from key figures such as Freedom Park, Chief Kayode Aderinokun (Chair CORA Trustee), and the esteemed CORA Board members. Notable contributions from authors, publishers, bookstores, and the public at large have played a pivotal role in bringing this initiative to fruition.

For those eager to explore this literary haven, the CORA L&RC invites inquiries via coralibrary@gmail.com and info@coraratfoundation.com.

As the curtain rises on this new chapter, CORA envisions a future where the power of words continues to shape minds and build a stronger nation.
