Nigerian-American singer Adaorah has released “Watch Me (Step),” a new Afrobeats single centred on confidence and self-expression.
Raised between Nigeria and the United States, Adaorah trained in classical vocals before returning to Lagos and pivoting towards Afrobeats. Her sound draws on pop, jazz, hip-hop and classical influences, a blend she brings to the fore on the new release.

“Watch Me (Step)” is built around strong vocal delivery and rhythmic chants, with the repeated hook “Now watch me” anchoring the song as a declaration of identity rather than competition. Adaorah’s verses are measured and controlled, allowing the hook to carry the record’s energy.
The production features steady percussion and layered backing vocals in a call-and-response structure, with moments designed for collective participation. Adaorah described the single as being about “showing up fully as yourself — no hesitation, no apology, just confidence in who you are and what you bring.”
“Watch Me (Step)” is out now across all major streaming platforms via ONErpm.
