Skales drops vibrant single ‘Another One’ ahead of new album

Skales is kicking off 2025 with a bang, releasing his infectious new single, “Another One,” a tantalising preview of his upcoming album, “Martina’s Son”. The track, a vibrant fusion of Afro-pop and Amapiano log drums, showcases the Nigerian Afro-pop sensation’s signature ability to blend nostalgia with modern sounds, setting the tone for what promises to be an exciting year for the artiste.

Produced by a powerhouse team including Wondah, Ace, Ibk and Boberry, “Another One” cleverly samples the classic Nigerian nursery rhyme “Change Your Style,” infusing it with energetic percussion and deep basslines. The result is a danceable, feel-good anthem that captures the essence of Skales’ musical evolution.

The track is a celebration of romance and good vibes. Skales’ playful delivery shines as he serenades a love interest, with lines like “My body no fit to dey one place” and the irresistible invitation “Shoma Jo laleyi” (Come and dance this night) painting a vivid picture of a lively night out. The song’s infectious energy and catchy hooks make it an instant crowd-pleaser.

“Another One” follows a string of successes for Skales, including the Benin-inspired hit “Jogo” and his international collaboration with Ace Hood on “In My Cup,” which has amassed over 10 million streams worldwide. This latest release not only reaffirms Skales’ place as a leading voice in the Nigerian music scene but also sets the stage for “Martina’s Son,” one of the most anticipated albums of the year.

From his humble beginnings in Kaduna to commanding global stages, Skales continues to evolve, blending cultural influences with contemporary sounds. “Another One” is a testament to his artistry and a promising glimpse of what’s to come.
