Tyla to release sophomore album ‘A-Pop’ on July 24 via Epic Records

Tyla has announced that her second studio album, titled “A-Pop,” will be released on July 24 through Epic Records, per pitchfork.com.

The news was accompanied by a project trailer and confirmation of several high-profile collaborations, marking a definitive new era for the Grammy-winning artist.

Although a full tracklist remains unconfirmed, the album is set to feature the amapiano-infused single “Chanel” and a new dancehall collaboration with Swedish singer Zara Larsson titled “She Did It Again”. Promotional materials for the record describe the project’s creative direction as “African, unapologetic and confident”.

The announcement follows a period of significant commercial growth for the artist. Speaking to Rolling Stone earlier this year, Tyla noted that while her 2024 debut was produced during a “hectic” rise to fame, her sophomore effort reflects a more settled and intentional artistic direction. She stated that she now has a clearer understanding of her professional goals and the message she wishes to convey through her music.

This upcoming release continues a prolific period for the singer, who followed her self-titled 2024 debut with the WWP EP in 2025. Over the last two years, she has expanded her international profile through collaborative projects with industry heavyweights including Wizkid, Sean Paul and Ayra Starr.

Tyla rose to global prominence with her 2023 hit “Water,” which pioneered the international “Amapiano” trend. “A-Pop” represents her first full-length studio effort since establishing herself as a leading voice in the global shift towards contemporary African pop music.
