Nigerian artist Runda has released his latest single, “Afunimawobe”.
The track centres on the tension between two people navigating attraction and closeness, with Runda employing conversational lyrics and a playful narrative style. The title phrase recurs throughout the song as an emotional refrain, anchoring its themes of reassurance and connection.

Sonically, the record is built on mellow rhythms and fluid vocals, with the artist balancing confidence and emotional openness across its runtime.
“This song is about that moment when everything lines up, and you stop overthinking it,” Runda said. “You just go with the feeling.”
The release is a further step in the trajectory of an artist who began as a street poet in Agege’s Pen-Cinema district in Lagos. His work has consistently explored the intersection of Afropop with R&B and pop influences.
“Afunimawobe” is out now on all major streaming platforms via ONErpm.
