A 35-year-old security professional was arrested on Friday afternoon following an alleged shooting incident outside the home of singer Chris Brown in Tarzana, Los Angeles, per ew.com.
Markeith Cungious faces charges of assault with a deadly weapon other than a firearm after allegedly discharging a CO2-powered air gun at a victim during a dispute.

Los Angeles Police Department officers responded to a call regarding a shooting in progress at approximately 4:11 pm on May 2. Upon arrival, authorities determined the weapon involved was a CO2-style handgun rather than a conventional firearm, leading to the specific assault charge.
The suspect, identified as Markeith Cungious, has worked in private security for over a decade and currently lists his role as head of estate security for a private family on LinkedIn. The LAPD stated it is currently unknown who Cungious was working for at the time of the incident or if he was on an active assignment.
Witness reports suggest the confrontation began when Cungious asked a woman to leave the area. The suspect claimed the woman drove over his foot, prompting him to fire at her vehicle. The woman subsequently contacted emergency services.
Records show Cungious was booked at the Valley Jail Section at 8:30 pm on Friday and released on bond at 12:40 am on Saturday. Representatives for Brown, who released a new music video the same day, have not yet commented on the incident.
The incident occurred just as Brown prepares for a major co-headlining tour with Usher and the scheduled release of his latest album, *Brown*, on May 8.
