Kenyan singer and actor Tuku Kantu has released his debut album, Lover’s Jukebox, now available on all major streaming platforms through distribution label ONErpm.
The eight-track project follows a period of incremental releases, with Kantu building audience anticipation through weekly singles ahead of the full album’s arrival. Each track is conceived as a standalone mood piece, an approach reflected in the jukebox conceit of the title, moving through distinct emotional registers from the exuberance of early romance to the reflective quiet of long-term commitment.

The album opens with “Wi Muthaka,” described as a celebration of youthful defiance in love, and closes with “Old With You,” which centres themes of domesticity and shared futures. “Mungu Alipanga Mwenyewe” draws on spiritual gratitude, while “Almost Lovers” sits with the discomfort of unresolved feelings. The record blends soulful songwriting with East African influences.
Kantu, who works across both music and acting, has spoken of his intent to use personal vulnerability as a connective device. “Love is a journey you walk until time grows tired,” he said in a statement accompanying the release. “This album is for everyone who refuses to give up on their heart.”
Lover’s Jukebox is out now on all streaming platforms via ONErpm.
