Kenyan singer, rapper and songwriter Steph Kapela has released a new single, “Come Over,” marking the latest from the Nairobi-born and bred artist, whose sound draws on R&B, soul, Afropop and hip-hop.
Kapela spent close to a decade in the United States before returning home to pursue an independent music career. His work has been associated with the city’s alternative urban music scene, blending influences from his upbringing with those acquired abroad.

“Come Over” is built around themes of attraction and directness. The song opens with an invitation to a woman who has caught the narrator’s attention, sustaining that focus through a chorus designed around a simple, repeating hook. A guest verse extends the perspective without departing from the central theme of mutual interest.
Kapela has described the record as a deliberate exercise in candour.
“This song is about that moment when you stop overthinking and just say what you feel,” he said.
The single is distributed via ONErpm and is available now on all major streaming platforms.
