Fave returns with ‘Dance,’ a study in love & longing

Nigerian Afropop artist Fave has released her new single “Dance,” a soft, rhythm-driven track that moves between romantic devotion and the fantasy of escape.

“Dance” centres on love, attraction and emotional uncertainty, with Fave positioning her partner as the focal point of an intensely felt connection. The song balances tenderness with a playful confidence, its hook carrying both vulnerability and warmth across a production built on soft percussion and airy melodies.

The record also draws on themes of escape, with references to Greece, Santorini and Paris functioning less as travelogue and more as shorthand for the kind of uninterrupted love that exists beyond everyday pressures. These moments of imagined distance sit alongside more grounded reflections on how unexpected connection can shift personal boundaries.

Produced by Damie, the track maintains a light, steady bounce that allows Fave’s vocals to remain at the centre without sacrificing the song’s movement-ready feel.

“I wanted this song to feel like when you’re caught between your head and your heart, but you still choose the feeling,” Fave said of the release.

Fave first came to wider attention with her breakout single “Baby Riddim” and has since built a following with emotionally driven music rooted in the Afropop sound. She had teased “Dance” online before the full release.

Produced by Damie and distributed via ONErpm, the record is now available on all major streaming platforms.
