Kenyan gospel artist Dr Mbuvi has released a new single, “Ala Makùlasya”, a chant-anchored track that fuses traditional Akamba rhythmic language with contemporary gospel.
The song is now available on all major streaming platforms via ONErpm.

Born Victor Mbuvi, the artist widely known in Kenya as the King of Kamba music, has built his reputation on work that bridges traditional Akamba rhythms and modern gospel production. He is also a comedian and television presenter.
“Ala Makùlasya” opens with a repeated chant that draws on Kamba oral tradition. The title phrase, addressed to the land, anchors a lyrical structure in which Mbuvi layers calls and responses, tyùyù tyùyù, ndilìle, nzamìthye, in a rhythm that moves between lament and celebration.
Thematically, the track centres on rootedness and communal memory, with the recurring phrase functioning as both musical hook and cultural invocation.
The production grounds these traditional elements within a contemporary gospel framework.
“Ala Makùlasya” is distributed through ONErpm.
