Kocee, born Njang Mengu Collins, has released “Jigi,” a new single exploring faith and perseverance.
The Cameroonian singer-songwriter has built a following across Central and West Africa by blending rap, Afrobeats and contemporary African sounds with personal storytelling. “Jigi” continues that approach, framed as a conversation with God in which the artist reflects on feeling unforgotten despite life’s difficulties.
The song traces the pressure and uncertainty that often accompany pursuing a dream, including a moment of self-doubt before Kocee resolves to trust that his path has purpose, even without a clear destination.
Sung in English, French, Pidgin and other African languages, “Jigi” centres on the repeated refrain “jigidi,” urging listeners to stay resilient through difficult periods.
“‘Jigi’ is for everyone who has ever questioned the journey but decided to keep going anyway,” Kocee said. “I wanted to remind people that faith gives us the strength to move, even when we can’t see what comes next.”
The song is now available on all streaming platforms via ONErpm
