Taylor Swift & Travis Kelce marry in star-studded New York ceremony

Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce have married in a star-studded ceremony at Madison Square Garden in New York, according to bbc.com.

The wedding, which took place on Friday, July 3, was officiated by comedian Adam Sandler and attended by approximately 1,000 guests, drawing global media attention and halting traffic in Midtown Manhattan.

Swift’s longtime publicist, Tree Paine, confirmed the nuptials and revealed that the pop superstar and American football player opted not to have a traditional bridal party. Instead, the singer’s brother, Austin Swift, served as man of honour, whilst retired NFL player Jason Kelce acted as his brother’s best man.

The couple wore custom wedding attire designed by Jonathan Anderson, the creative director of Dior, marking the designer’s first couture wedding dress for a world-renowned celebrity. The look was paired with custom Christian Louboutin shoes and Cartier jewellery.

The high-profile guest list featured prominent figures from across the entertainment world, including actors Hugh Grant, Jason Sudeikis, Bradley Cooper, Ethan Hawke and Dakota Johnson. Musicians Benson Boone and Jack Antonoff, model Gigi Hadid, supermodel Karlie Kloss and British television presenter Graham Norton were also among the attendees.

Celebrations began on Thursday with a 100-guest pre-party and rehearsal dinner at the venue. By Friday, a large security operation was underway as temperatures in the city reached 37•C. The New York City Police Department closed surrounding streets to all vehicular and pedestrian traffic, erecting massive tents, curtains and gazebos to shield the arrivals of high-profile guests from onlookers and news cameras.

Following the ceremony, the Madison Square Garden complex illuminated its exterior screens with the message “JUST&T MARRIED”, triggering cheers from hundreds of fans who had gathered outside the arena throughout the day.

The wedding represents the convergence of two major pillars of American pop culture. Prior to the event, Swift and Kelce jointly donated $26 million to more than 20 charities, though no public mention of the wedding was made ahead of the festivities.
