Taylor Swift donates $50k to injured woman’s fundraiser

Taylor Swift has contributed $50,000 to an online crowdfunding campaign for Ashley Taunton, a Connecticut mother of three recovering from major injuries after being struck by a vehicle while assisting at an accident scene, per tmz.com.

Taunton pulled over during a heavy rainstorm to help a vehicle involved in a roadside collision. While providing assistance, she was struck by another car that hydroplaned. She has already undergone two surgical operations and faces an extensive recovery period.

Swift included a personal message with her donation wishing Taunton and her family well. The contribution follows a series of high-profile philanthropic efforts by Swift and Travis Kelce, who collectively donated $26 million to 20 charities ahead of their wedding. Among the beneficiaries was the late singer Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library, which received $2 million before Parton’s death at age 80.
