Taylor Swift & Travis Kelce wedding speculation grows after MSG permit filing

A street activity permit filed with the New York City Mayor’s Office has intensified speculation that pop star Taylor Swift and American football player Travis Kelce are planning a wedding at Madison Square Garden in early July, per nbcnews.com.

Dora Pekec, a spokesperson for the Mayor’s Office, confirmed that an application was submitted to the Street Activity Permit Office in early June. The filing, initially reported by The New York Times, details requests for street closures around the Midtown Manhattan venue between July 2 and 4.

An event-planning firm, Winick Productions, submitted the application to erect a large tent outside the arena designed to accommodate between 500 and 999 guests. Elliot Winick, the company’s president, declined to comment on the filing.

An unnamed source within Madison Square Garden confirmed the venue has blocked out July 2 to 4 for a major event, though they could not verify if the dates were reserved specifically for the Swift-Kelce nuptials. Representatives for Swift, Kelce, and the venue did not immediately respond to requests for comment.

The couple, who became engaged in August after a high-profile two-year relationship, have kept details of their wedding confidential. However, New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani appeared to validate the rumours during a recent press conference regarding the city’s capacity for large-scale events, explicitly referencing “Taylor Swift’s wedding” alongside the national July 4 celebrations.
