James Gunn recently provided an update on the eagerly anticipated second season of Peacemaker.
Gunn, who has been diligently working on the upcoming installment, revealed in October that he was in the process of writing the new episodes. In a recent interaction on Threads, the director excitedly shared that the second season is now “over halfway written,” heightening fans’ anticipation.
Responding to inquiries about his workload, especially as the new co-boss of DC Studios, Gunn clarified that he is currently focused on writing Peacemaker season 2 while simultaneously preparing for his upcoming Superman movie, Legacy. Legacy is set to feature David Corenswet as Clark Kent and Rachel Brosnahan as Lois Lane.
Having initially expressed his commitment to Peacemaker following Superman, Gunn reaffirmed his dedication to the project. The Peacemaker series, which debuted nearly two years ago, centres around John Cena’s titular character, introduced in 2021’s The Suicide Squad. Gunn expressed his enthusiasm for the second season, stating that creating Peacemaker has been a highlight both professionally and personally.
The show is available for streaming on HBO Max in the US and airs on Sky and NOW in the UK.
