Cardi B secured the award for best female hip-hop artist at the 2026 BET Awards on June 28 following a high-energy medley performance at the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles, per hollywoodreporter.com.

Entering the ceremony with a night-high six nominations, the artist performed a four-song mashup from her second studio album, *Am I the Drama?*.

The performance began with Cardi B arriving on stage aboard a lit sport bike before launching into a choreographed routine with backup dancers. Her setlist featured the tracks “Errtime,” “Hello,” “Check Please” and “Pretty & Petty” from her latest album, which was released last year.

Cardi B led the event’s nomination field alongside Kendrick Lamar and Mariah the Scientist, who held five nominations each. Other heavily nominated contemporary artists included Doechii, Doja Cat, Clipse and Teyana Taylor.

The live broadcast, hosted by comedian Druski, featured an extensive lineup of performances across hip-hop, R&B and soul. Notable performers sharing the stage throughout the evening included Raye, Common, Don Toliver, Jill Scott, Tems, Nas and Rapsody.

The annual BET Awards remain a significant cultural benchmark for celebrating Black excellence in music, acting and sports. Cardi B’s prominent placement and victory at the 2026 ceremony reinforce her sustained commercial influence within the global music industry following the rollout of her sophomore album.
