Wonder Woman star Gal Gadot is in final negotiations to play the Evil Queen in Disney’s new remake of Snow White.
Rachel Zegler, who has the lead role in Steven Spielberg’s upcoming West Side Story remake, has been cast in the titular role. Presently, no other cast members have been confirmed.
Citing Deadline in its report, Digital Spy states that production for the newest live-action adaptation of a classic Disney film is expected to begin in 2022, over 80 years since the original Snow White was released.
Adding that while little else has been confirmed, the publication reports that there are rumours that the adaptation will expand on the story and music from the original. Oscar and Tony winners Benj Pasek and Justin Paul are tipped to be writing additional music for the movie, having previously worked on hit musicals La La Land, The Greatest Showman and Dear Evan Hansen.
