Patti LaBelle teases new album ‘8065’ and collaborations with Cardi B & Gladys Knight

Patti LaBelle, who celebrated her 80th birthday on May 24, has shown no signs of slowing down her illustrious career spanning over six decades, per thatgrapejuice.net. In an emotional interview with ‘Entertainment Tonight’ during the legendary songstress’s surprise birthday party, LaBelle reflected on her longevity in the music industry, expressing gratitude for her health and the support of her longtime friends.

Amidst her reflections, LaBelle revealed exciting plans for 2024, hinting at surprising new collaborations. Following her unexpected culinary partnership with Cardi B, LaBelle hinted at a musical collaboration with the chart-topping rapper this holiday season. “Why not? She’s like one of my new best friends,” LaBelle said, expressing her delight at Cardi B’s admiration for her work.

This potential duet is expected to be part of LaBelle’s forthcoming album, “8065,” named to signify her 80 years of age and 65 years in show business. 

The album, set for release at the end of this year, will feature several high-profile contributors. While the only confirmed guest so far is her longtime friend Gladys Knight, previous reports have suggested contributions from Mariah Carey, Jazmine Sullivan, and Ledisi.
