Netflix’s documentary on Jimmy Savile sparks backlash

Netflix have released a trailer for its new documentary about evil paedophile Jimmy Savile and it has been met with a backlash from viewers who claim airing the show is insensitive to his victims, according to Daily Star.

Jimmy Savile: A British Horror Story clip, the outlet reports, examines how the DJ and TV presenter fooled the British public into hailing him as a ‘national treasure’ before he was unmasked as paedophile after he died.

Since the Top of the Pops and Jim’ll Fix It presenter died more than 450 allegations of sexual abuse have been made against him and police have concluded he is one of Britain’s most prolific ever predatory sex offenders.

Archive footage is shown in the trailer and at one point, Savile, who died in 2011 aged 84, is seen turning to the camera and saying: “Let me tell you, you really are missing something. In fact, you’re missing everything.”

In another disturbing clip, Savile is seen in a hospital, saying: “I am a voluntary helper. Sometimes, when nobody’s looking, I help the lasses.”

A contributor is also seen saying: “With Jim, you accepted things as normal, but it was abnormal.”
