Lana Del Rey has announced “Spyda” album to accompany her forthcoming record “Stove,” saying she needs a month to finish compiling the former before sending both albums to vinyl, per consequence.net.
She shared the news and artwork in an Instagram post published on Wednesday night, describing “Spyda” as a large secondary compilation formed while she completed “Stove”.
She wrote that the companion album grew from reflections on the past four years, describing it as “a commentary of sorts” on events and personal change. She said many collaborators helped assemble the collection and that she required “a month to finish putting [Spyda] together, and then send my two albums to vinyl.”
The singer called “Stove” “lovely and intact as it was intended to be” and characterised it as a more traditional album, with “Spyda” serving as a secondary compilation of songs prompted by hopefulness and fresh starts. Del Rey thanked collaborators and fans for their patience, adding that the two projects represent “two of my most beautiful pieces of work.”
No release dates were provided for either album. “Stove” and “Spyda” will be Del Rey’s first full-length releases since March 2023’s Did You Know That There’s a Tunnel Under Ocean Blvd. Earlier this year she previewed “Stove” with the single “White Feather Hawk Tail Deer Hunter” and recently released “First Light,” which she wrote for the James Bond video game 007 First Light.
