Illbliss reflects on hip-hop journey in ‘Worthy”

Nigerian rapper and music executive Illbliss has released “Worthy,” a two-part collaboration with artist Acetune.

The project is built around themes of self-belief and perseverance. The first track, “Worthy 1,” revisits Illbliss’s early career, performing in modest venues and working with limited resources and frames those experiences as the foundation of his artistic identity. Acetune contributes a complementary voice grounded in the same outlook.

“Worthy 2” extends the reflection, with both artists addressing the pressures of expectation and the internal reckoning required to sustain a career in music. “No matter where you start, you have to see it in yourself first,” Illbliss said of the project’s central message.

Illbliss has been a consistent figure in Nigerian hip-hop since the early 2000s, associated with the Eastern sound and widely credited with helping to shape its commercial profile. He has also worked as a record executive and actor.

The songs are now streaming across all major platforms via ONErpm.
