Cardi B wins contempt ruling against blogger Tasha K over settlement breaches

A Florida judge has found blogger Tasha K in contempt of court for repeatedly violating a settlement agreement with Grammy-winning rapper Cardi B, per allhiphop.com.

During a hearing on May 6, the court ordered the blogger, whose legal name is Latasha Kebe, to remove prohibited content immediately and pay significant legal fees following allegations of continued disparagement against the artist and her family.

The ruling is a significant escalation in a protracted legal dispute that began with a 2022 defamation lawsuit. Cardi B was originally awarded nearly $4 million in damages, a figure later reduced to approximately $1.2 million through a structured settlement following Kebe’s bankruptcy filing. That agreement included a strict non-disparagement clause preventing Kebe from discussing Cardi B, her husband Offset, or NFL player Stefon Diggs.

Legal representatives for Cardi B, led by attorney Lisa Moore, argued that Kebe breached these terms by publishing commentary regarding Offset’s alleged gambling debts and a recent shooting incident at a Florida casino. The court also sanctioned Kebe’s attorney for submitting “hallucinated citations” within legal filings, adding further financial penalties to the blogger’s existing liabilities.

Moore is now seeking to reinstate the full original judgment of $3.9 million, asserting that Kebe’s conduct demonstrates a persistent disregard for both the settlement terms and judicial authority. The court has demanded the immediate deletion of all materials that contravene the previous agreement.

While Cardi B was not present for the ruling, the decision reinforces the permanent injunction against Kebe. Neither party has issued a formal statement following the Wednesday hearing.

The case serves as a landmark precedent for celebrity defamation in the digital age, highlighting the enforceable nature of non-disparagement clauses for social media influencers and YouTubers who pivot from commentary to personal allegations.
