Britney Spears has hinted at a possible sequel to her recently released memoir, The Woman in Me, set to make waves next year.
The book, which recounts her journey to superstardom and her 13-year conservatorship under her estranged father, has garnered significant attention since its launch earlier this month.
On Instagram, Spears boldly declared it to be “the highest selling celebrity memoir in history,” although the post has since been removed. However, she surprised fans with another Instagram post that has since been deleted, confirming that a second volume is in the works.
In the deleted post, Spears captioned, “Humor is the cure to everything!!! Play on!!! Volume 2 will be released next year… get ready!” Variety reported that sources close to the singer denied the existence of a second memoir.
Britney Spears, who endured a highly scrutinised conservatorship from 2008 to 2021, has filled her memoir with shocking revelations, such as a past abortion during her relationship with Justin Timberlake and her fears that her family intended to harm her during the conservatorship.
Spears, however, clarified that her book’s intent was not to offend anyone, saying the majority of the content dates back two decades and is part of her past, as she has since moved on to a new chapter in her life.
