The All Africa Music Awards (AFRIMA), in partnership with the African Union Commission, will host the Diamond Party and Prize Presentation on June 3, 2026, in Lagos to celebrate seven emerging African artistes.
The event, taking place at Voyage Lagos, will formally introduce the group known as The AFRIMA Diamonds, comprising Ellacentric, Black Astro, Yamayeh Vibez, Mayowa Afolabi, DELLFIRE, El Nayaan and Blinkz Baba. They were selected through AFRIMA’s Talent Discovery and Promotion Initiative, which aims to identify and support the next generation of African music stars.

The Diamond Party follows a year-long process that attracted entries from across the continent. After a rigorous selection by AFRIMA’s International Jury, the seven artists performed at the AFRIMA Music Village during the 9th AFRIMA Awards in Lagos, reaching more than 10,000 live attendees and millions of viewers worldwide.
Marwane Fachane, a member of AFRIMA’s International Jury representing Northern Africa, said the initiative reflects AFRIMA’s commitment to building sustainable pathways for emerging creatives. He noted that the programme connects young artistes with record labels, producers, promoters and broadcasters to help them grow within the global music industry.
As part of their development, the seven Diamonds will also attend the Showbiz 101 Workshop & Music Creation Camp organised by bridgeAFRIC from June 23 to June 30 in Lagos. Victoria Nkong, President of bridgeAFRIC, said the camp would sharpen their artistry and expose them to collaboration opportunities with leading African producers and performers.
The event is supported by SE Electronics, which will provide professional audio equipment, and Voyage Lagos, which is offering hospitality services. Bolaji Onisiwo of New Media Technologies Nigeria, SE Electronics’ national distributor, said the partnership aims to strengthen Africa’s creative ecosystem by equipping young talents with essential resources.
The Diamond Party is expected to draw prominent figures from Africa’s entertainment sector, including rapper Ladipoe, afrobeats star Qing Madi, media personality Olisa Adibua, radio host Dotun, creative director Alex Okeke and influencer Enioluwa.
AFRIMA, Africa’s longest-running music awards, broadcasts its week-long programme to over 85 countries. Its Talent Discovery and Promotion Initiative remains central to its vision of nurturing globally competitive African artistes while promoting culture and youth empowerment.
