CMA Awards announce performers, including Kacey Musgraves & Ella Langley

Kacey Musgraves, Ella Langley, Tim McGraw, Cody Johnson, Miranda Lambert, The Red Clay Strays, Zach Top and Tucker Wetmore will perform at the 60th annual CMA Awards on November 18, organisers have announced, with the show also set to pay tribute to the late Dolly Parton, billboard.com.

The first round of performers includes Langley, whose “Choosin’ Texas” has dominated the all-genre Billboard Hot 100 this year. McGraw, who was inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame last month, is also on the bill.

The ceremony will honour Parton, a Country Music Hall of Fame member who died in August.

Reigning CMA entertainer of the year Lainey Wilson will host the show for a third consecutive year. It will air live from Bridgestone Arena in Nashville on ABC and Disney+ on Wednesday, November 18, and will be available on Hulu the following day.

Langley leads this year’s nominees with nine nods, including entertainer, album (Dandelion), female vocalist, musical event and music video of the year. She is also nominated twice each for single and song of the year.

Lambert has seven nominations, including two for single of the year and her 19th for female vocalist of the year. With 70 career nominations, she holds the record for the most CMA Awards nominations by a female artist.

Johnson, the reigning male vocalist of the year, is up for four awards, including entertainer, male vocalist, single and music video of the year. Musgraves has five nominations, among them album (Middle of Nowhere), female vocalist and song of the year.

Top, the reigning new artist of the year, has two nominations: male vocalist and album of the year (Ain’t In It for My Health). Wetmore receives his second CMA nomination, in the new artist category. The Red Clay Strays, the reigning vocal group of the year, will seek to retain their title.

At last year’s ceremony, Wilson won album of the year for Whirlwind. Langley and Riley Green’s “You Look Like You Love Me” took song and single of the year, while Post Malone and Blake Shelton’s “Pour Me a Drink” was named musical event of the year.
