MaryAnne shares a vulnerable plea in new single “Baby”

MaryAnne (Mary Raheem) has released her new single, “Baby,” an emotional R&B and Afropop ballad.

Known for blending her cultural background and soulful style, the British-Nigerian singer and songwriter creates music rooted in her vibrant personality, culture, and lived experiences. Her music aims to connect with listeners on a personal level and encourages them to express themselves.

The track “Baby” is a raw exploration of love on the verge of being lost. It opens with a tone of resigned acceptance,“It will be what it will be,” before building into a plea for reconciliation. The repetitive hook, “Baby tonight… one more time,” conveys a sense of fragile hope and desperation. Through her vocal delivery, MaryAnne confesses her brokenness and fear of rejection, all while clinging to the possibility that love can still be saved. The song expertly balances the pain of heartbreak with the passionate hope of being chosen.

“Baby” is one of two tracks in MaryAnne’s debut single pack, which also includes the song “Let Me Go”. MaryAnne draws inspiration from artistes like Seyi Vibez, Danny S, WesthanBoyz and ShowDemCamp.
