Olivia Dean makes official chart history with Number 1 single & album double

Olivia Dean has emphatically claimed her spot at the pinnacle of UK music, securing an Official Chart double by earning both the UK’s Official Number 1 album with The Art of Loving and the Official Number 1 single with “Man I Need,” per music-news.com.

In a landmark achievement, the Walthamstow native becomes the first British solo female artiste to claim the UK’s Number 1 album and single simultaneously since Adele managed the feat in 2021 with 30 and “Easy On Me”.

Dean’s success is further magnified by her massive sales week. The Art of Loving secured an outstanding 53,000 chart units over the past seven days, marking the biggest opening week for a British female artist since Adele in 2021. It ranks as the fifth biggest opening week of the year overall. Meanwhile, Man I Need dethroned HUNTR/X’s “Golden” after its lengthy eight-week reign at the top of the Official Singles Chart.

The chart success extends across the board for Dean, who also sees “Nice to Each Other” (4) and “So Easy (To Fall In Love)” (9) land in the Singles Top 10. She also dominated the physical formats, topping both the Official Vinyl Albums Chart and the Official Record Store Chart.

Congratulating Olivia, Martin Talbot, Chief Executive Officer, Official Charts, stated, “Achieving a rare Official Number 1 chart double has truly propelled Olivia Dean onto the top table of British talent this week. Her success… is fantastic news for the East London singer and for British music more widely.”
