Nija shares new song “Back Outside,” announces forthcoming project

Nija is back with her third single of 2025, the assertive new track “Back Outside,” per ratedrnb.com. Co-produced by the R&B singer-songwriter herself alongside Jack Rochon, Serg Dio, Christian McCurdy, and Ace G, the song is a confident anthem for anyone ready to walk away from a one-sided romance.

In “Back Outside,” Nija makes it clear she won’t settle for half-hearted love, singing, “So, if you ever wanna leave / You should try it, yes, indeed / It’s okay with me / Baby, I would / Give you right back to the streets.” The single follows her earlier 2025 releases, “Heaven” and “32nd Floor,” both of which hit streaming services this spring.

The new single, along with her recent tracks and last year’s comeback single “Unruly,” are set to appear on Nija’s upcoming self-released project. The collection will mark her first full-length work since her debut EP, Don’t Say I Didn’t Warn You, released in January 2022.

Nija has previously described the theme of her new music as a departure from heartbreak, telling Rated R&B that this upcoming project is about “how it plays out when you’re done with that.” With her latest release, she delivers a powerful and empowering message for listeners ready to reclaim their freedom.
