Following the introspective soul-searching of his debut EP, Believe, last year, Vibe shows Agatchu stepping fully into his artistry. Blending solo tracks with standout collaborations, the EP is a cross-cultural celebration rooted in the expansive musical energy of the Afro-Lusophone world, with influences spanning from Lisbon and Paris to Luanda and Lagos.
Anchored by a rich palette of Afrobeats, R&B, bossa nova, semba, kompa, and soulful textures, Vibe radiates both intimacy and global sonic expression. Agatchu’s unmistakable voice moves seamlessly across French, Portuguese, English, and Yoruba, weaving a deeply personal narrative that remains globally resonant.
Each track on the EP serves as an emotional checkpoint. From the sultry calm of ‘Chance,’ a love song with Brazilian and Lusophone tinges, to the cinematic pulse of ‘Maradona,’ which explores love and ego with hypnotic force, listeners are taken on a journey grounded in Agatchu’s resonant truths. Since making his official debut as an artiste in 2024, after years of working behind the scenes as a producer and songwriter, Agatchu has quickly become one of the most exciting new voices in the global music landscape. He has earned strong support from industry tastemakers such as Spotify, Apple Music, BBC 1Xtra, and Vevo DSCVR.
Born in Angola and raised in France, Agatchu began his musical journey as a teenager, honing his skills as a rapper and beat-maker in the group RealOrBeatz. His undeniable talent led him to write and produce for some of the biggest names in afropop music, including Dadju, Tayc, and Ya Levis.
Fluent in French, English, Spanish, and Portuguese—and with an ear for Lingala and Yoruba—Agatchu’s extensive travels and multicultural experiences have infused his sound with a rich tapestry of folk, pop, Afrobeats, and tribal melodies. He describes his music as “frequencies with spiritual and therapeutic properties.”
His solo career officially launched in February 2024 with ‘New Maserati,’ an uplifting anthem of perseverance featuring amapiano influences.
