Cardi B to drop new song “Outside” amidst Offset drama

Cardi B is set to release her highly anticipated first song of the year, “Outside,” this Friday, June 20, as reported by hiphopdx.com. The “Bodak Yellow” hitmaker confirmed the drop on Instagram, sharing the cover art featuring a summer sidewalk with an overflowing fire hydrant.

Fans are buzzing with speculation that “Outside” will address her ongoing, tumultuous split from Offset. A leaked snippet of the track features Cardi rapping, “I’ve been cuffed up too long, let me remind n-ggas.” The same snippet also hints at a new romance, with Cardi boasting, “Your favourite player on your favourite team, he in my DM,” seemingly referring to New England Patriots wide receiver Stefon Diggs.

The song’s release comes hot on the heels of Cardi’s candid confession on X Spaces, where she revealed the mental toll her relationship with the former Migos rapper took on her. She admitted she was “mentally drained” and “literally losing my mind,” stating she would have ended up in jail if she hadn’t left him.

Meanwhile, Offset has seemingly thrown shade at Cardi’s new relationship with Diggs, commenting “Good roll out n PR” after photos and videos surfaced of the two getting close on a yacht. The contentious divorce proceedings between Cardi B and Offset have been ongoing since last year.
