Moliy & Silent Addy’s ‘Shake It to the Max’ remix tops US Afrobeats chart

The viral remix of “Shake It to the Max (FLY)” by Ghanaian singer Moliy and producer Silent Addy — now featuring dancehall stars Skillibeng and Shenseea — has soared to No. 1 on the Billboard U.S. Afrobeats Songs chart dated May 17, billboard.com.

The dance floor-ready anthem dethrones Tyla’s “Push 2 Start” after its impressive 20-week reign, becoming the first new chart-topper of the year. Originally released in November 2024, the track exploded in popularity after the March remix dropped, driven by a viral dance challenge that swept TikTok and Instagram.

According to Luminate, “Shake It to the Max” racked up 2.9 million US streams and 500 digital downloads during the tracking week of May 2–8. The buzz has translated into airplay, too: the song leapt from No. 33 to No. 26 on Rhythmic Airplay and debuted at No. 34 on Mainstream R&B/Hip-Hop Airplay — major gains for a track just weeks into its remix run.

This marks a historic milestone for all four collaborators. Moliy and Silent Addy score their first-ever entries and No. 1s on the chart, while Skillibeng and Shenseea notch their first U.S. Afrobeats leaders. The Jamaican pair had previously peaked at No. 3 and No. 17, respectively.

Globally, the song is gaining momentum, too. It climbed to No. 111 on the Billboard Global 200 and No. 81 on the Global Excl. U.S. chart, while the original version continues its stronghold at No. 1 on the UK Official Afrobeats Chart for a seventh week running.
