ASFS announces shortlist for 2024 Nommo Awards

The African Speculative Fiction Society (ASFS) has unveiled the shortlist for the 2024 Nommo Awards, recognising the best in African science fiction and fantasy literature. 

This announcement, made on the society’s official X handle (@africansfs), highlights the exceptional talent within the African speculative fiction community.

The ASFS, a community of writers, editors, publishers and artists, has announced an impressive selection of works across four categories of Novel, Novella, Graphic Novel and Short Story in the awards that continue to celebrate and elevate the diverse voices and imaginative storytelling that define African speculative fiction.

This year’s shortlists for the Nommo Awards, established to celebrate excellence in African speculative fiction, feature a mix of established authors and emerging talents, reflecting the richness and diversity of African speculative storytelling.
