The Arojah Royal Theatre, in collaboration with the Nigerian Copyright Commission (NCC), Korean Cultural Centre and Klub98 Initiative, is set to host the 2024 edition of Kongi’s Harvest in a grand celebration of Nigeria’s literary icon, Professor Wole Soyinka. This annual event marks Soyinka’s 90th birthday and promises a remarkable gathering of scholars, dignitaries, and enthusiasts of literature.
Date is Tuesday, July 16, 2024 by 2pm at the Korean Cultural Centre, 2nd Floor, Rivers House, 83 Ralph Sodeinde Street, Central Business District, Abuja.
The event will feature an array of distinguished speakers and guests. Prof. Abdulrasheed Na’Allah, former vice-chancellor of the University of Abuja, will deliver the keynote address. Other notable speakers include Dr. John Asein, DG of the Nigerian Copyright Commission, Barr. Ahmed Maiwada, Mall. Denja Abdullahi, Dr. ‘Bode Ojoniyi, and Om’Oba Jerry Adesewo, who is also the convener.
General TY Buratai (rtd), the former Chief of Army Staff, is the special guest of honour, while Mr. Kim Chang-ki, Director of the Korean Cultural Centre, will co-host. The event will also see contributions from cultural influencers like Haley Suh and Sujin Lim.
The milestone event celebrates Wole Soyinka’s profound impact on literature and culture, and is an opportunity to engage with a vibrant community of literature enthusiasts.
