Tems returns with ‘Love Me Jeje’ ahead of debut album release

Tems is back with a new single titled “Love Me Jeje,” marking the first release from her highly-anticipated debut album, “Born in the Wild,” set to drop next month, per rollingstone.com.

The track, which features an interpolation of Seyi Sodimu’s 1997 hit of the same name, sees Tems embracing the meaning of “Jeje,” singing tenderly over a guitar-flecked groove. Produced by Spax and Guiltybeatz, “Love Me Jeje” showcases Tems’ songwriting prowess and musical versatility.

While the album’s release date and tracklist are yet to be unveiled, Tems gave fans a glimpse of what to expect with a short trailer earlier this month, hinting at the album’s title track.

“Born in the Wild” comes six years after Tems’ debut single, Mr. Rebel, and follows a string of successful releases, including hits like “Damages” and “Free Mind.” Tems has also collaborated with industry heavyweights like Wizkid, Future and Drake, further solidifying her position as one of Nigeria’s brightest musical talents.

Fresh off her debut performance at Coachella, where she wowed audiences and even brought out Wizkid and Justin Bieber for a special rendition of “Essence,” Tems is set to perform at several festivals this summer, including appearances in the Netherlands and Switzerland. With her star on the rise, Tems continues to captivate audiences with her soulful sound and undeniable talent.
