T.I. has secured fresh certification hardware from the Recording Industry Association of America for his hit single “Let ’Em Know,” as the Atlanta rap heavyweight prepares to close his recording career with his upcoming final studio album, “Kill the King,” per allhiphop.com.
Released on January 18 as the lead single from his forthcoming farewell project, the Pharrell Williams-produced track reunites the collaborators on a high-energy record that has crossed generational lines.
The single previously earned an RIAA Gold certification in April after crossing 500,000 equivalent units in the United States, before advancing to its latest milestone.
Speaking on the unconventional creative process behind the song, T.I. noted that it was recorded on a yacht in the middle of the Atlantic Ocean, drawing inspiration from life experiences and personal interactions. Following the commercial momentum of the single, the Atlanta artist expressed gratitude to his family, production team, radio programmers, and fans for supporting the release.
Kill the King is set to feature additional high-profile contributions, including production from Dr. Dre, adding further anticipation to the rapper’s final body of work. Rather than pursuing a quiet exit, T.I. enters the final stretch of his recording career actively touring alongside his musician children and maintaining a visible presence across the industry.
