SOBAFest 23 unveils “Roots and Routes” theme and exciting dates

Sokoto Book and Arts Festival (SOBAFest) is back and ready to make waves in the world of literature, art and culture. The highly anticipated event, known for its celebration of creativity, has just announced its theme and dates for the third edition.

After successfully “Changing the Narrative” in the Sokoto creative sphere and making “A Returning” to empower voices with timely messages, the Sokoto Book and Arts Foundation is delighted to announce the return of SOBAFest, scheduled for November 17th to 19th, 2023. This year, according to the organisers, the festival promises to be more captivating than ever, focusing on the theme “Roots and Routes.”

“Roots and Routes” will delve deep into the rich artistic, literary and cultural heritage of the Caliphate City. It aims to explore the city’s uniqueness, its intersections with the present, and its role in shaping the future of African creativity. With a diverse lineup of events spanning poetry performances, art exhibitions, panel discussions, book chats, drama, and cultural dances, SOBAFest 23 is set to unite generations of African creatives, arts and culture enthusiasts, and neutral observers.

This festival isn’t just about celebrating the written word and visual art; it’s a journey of discovery, a meeting of minds, and the magic that happens when literature and art collide. Whether you’re physically present or attending virtually, the Seat of the Caliphate is the place to be from November 17th to 19th, 2023, as it comes alive with history, legacy, and artistry.
