Shallipopi & Plutomania release new single ‘420’

Nigerian street-pop act Shallipopi has released “420,” a new single recorded under the Plutomania collective banner and distributed via ONErpm.

The track opens at pace, centring themes of money, nightlife, and constant movement. The hook foregrounds enjoyment and spending power, driven by coded street phrases and a recurring titular refrain that anchors the rhythm throughout.

“420” makes no claim to narrative depth. It is, by design, a mood piece — built for immediate connection rather than close listening. Shallipopi has acknowledged as much: “This one no be to think too much, just catch the vibe and stay in motion.”

The release continues Shallipopi’s ascent within the Nigerian street-pop scene. The Benin City-raised artist has built a following by translating local slang and a deliberately unhurried sensibility into music with broad reach. The Plutomania collective, with which he has developed an ongoing creative relationship, frames that output within a world where, as the press material puts it, “the hustle is constant, but the mood remains light.”

“420” is available now on all major streaming platforms.
