Rosalía will be honoured with the International Songwriter of the Year Award at the 71st Ivor Novello Awards this month, per music-news.com.
The Ivors Academy confirmed the Spanish singer-songwriter was selected for the distinction following the significant cultural and commercial impact of her work in the United Kingdom over the past year.

The presentation will take place on May 21 at Grosvenor House in London. Organisers praised Rosalía for her 2025 album, LUX, which featured lyrics in 13 different languages. The Academy noted that the record successfully transcended traditional language and genre barriers to create a “revelatory” and authentic body of work.
The Ivors Academy CEO, Roberto Neri, stated that the award reflects the organisation’s growing global outlook. He credited Rosalía with breaking down international borders through her songwriting, marking this as her first Ivor Novello win. She follows previous recipient Charli XCX, who was named Songwriter of the Year at the 2025 ceremony.
The announcement follows a period of sustained critical success for the artist. Rosalía previously secured the International Artist of the Year title at the BRIT Awards in February and was named Woman of the Year at the Billboard Latin Women in Music event earlier in April.
The Ivor Novello Awards, established in 1955, are among the most prestigious honours in the music industry, judged by the songwriting community to celebrate excellence in British and Irish songwriting and screen composition, alongside major international contributions.
