The Kit Kat Club officially reopened its doors on Broadway with a dazzling revival of the iconic musical Cabaret on April 21, per Following a successful run in London’s West End, where it scooped up seven Olivier Awards, including Best Musical Revival, the production has made its triumphant return to New York.

Directed by Rebecca Frecknall, this immersive staging transports audiences to the decadent world of Weimar-era Berlin. Led by a stellar cast, including Eddie Redmayne as The Emcee, Gayle Rankin as Sally Bowles and Ato Blankson-Wood as Cliff, the production promises to captivate audiences with its electrifying performances and gripping storyline.

Based on Christopher Isherwood’s Goodbye to Berlin and John Van Druten’s I Am a Camera, Cabaret tells the story of American writer Clifford Bradshaw as he navigates the hedonistic world of 1930s Berlin. Against the backdrop of rising Nazi power, Bradshaw finds himself entangled in a complex relationship with Sally Bowles, a charismatic English cabaret performer.

The Broadway revival boasts an impressive creative team, including choreographer Julia Cheng, set and costume designer Tom Scutt and lighting designer Isabella Byrd. With its thrilling performances and stunning production design, Cabaret promises to be a must-see event for theatre lovers.

Produced by Ambassador Theatre Group Productions, Underbelly, Gavin Kalin Productions, Hunter Arnold, Smith & Brant Theatricals and Wessex Grove, the revival of Cabaret marks the musical’s first new staging on Broadway since 1998, reaffirming, many say, its status as a timeless classic.
