The American rapper Kodak Black, legal name Bill Kahan Kapri, was booked into an Orange County jail on Wednesday following his surrender to Florida authorities, per vibe.com.
Official Orange County Inmate Records indicate the 28-year-old faces charges of trafficking MDMA in a quantity between 10 and 200 grams.

The case originates from an incident in November 2025.
According to the rapper’s legal representative, Bradford Cohen, the charges stem from a police search of a vehicle that Mr Kapri was not occupying at the time. Officers reportedly discovered a bag containing various items, including a bottle of prescription cough syrup which investigators allege bore the rapper’s fingerprint.
Mr Cohen characterised the arrest as a coordinated surrender but criticised the severity of the prosecution. He stated that the legal basis for the case was weak and suggested that authorities had escalated a potential possession matter into a trafficking charge. The defence team confirmed they intend to contest the allegations in circuit court, maintaining that the evidence is insufficient to prove possession.
Mr Kapri has a history of legal convictions, including federal charges for making false statements on government documents and state-level assault and battery. His previous 46-month federal prison sentence was commuted in 2021. This latest legal development follows the late 2025 release of his eighth studio album, Just Getting Started.
