The Committee for Relevant Art (CORA) has commiserated with the family of the iconic Nollywood star, Olu Jacobs, whose transition to the hereafter was announced in the early hours of today, Wednesday, September 16, 2026.
“The Lion of Lufodo, as he was fondly called, bestrode the earth like a colossus, leaving a trail of legacies that will continue to reverberate in the Nigerian creative ecosystem and beyond,“ said CORA in a statement, adding that his was indeed a life distinguished by extraordinary feats.

“Only a man of exceptional quality and carriage could embody such multiple endowments while still possessing the level of humility that Mr Jacobs radiated in his relationships with colleagues, associates, and younger members of his profession”.
Without doubt, his death has created a gaping hole, a vacuum that will be difficult to fill, CORA stated and prayed that his soul may rest in the bosom of the Creator.
