The 67-year-old actress and comedian, who has played several LGBT characters on screen, said that she is not a lesbian and has always had lesbian friends.
The View star opened up about her personal life on Raven’s podcast, The Best Podcast Ever, where she was joined by Raven’s wife and co-host, Miranda Maday. Raven, who came out as gay in 2013, admitted that she had a crush on Whoopi when they worked together on the daytime talk show. She also said that Whoopi sometimes gave her “stud vibes”, a term used to describe masculine-presenting lesbians.
Whoopi responded by saying that she has been asked about her sexuality for a long time, but she has never identified as a lesbian. She said that she has boundaries with her LGBT friends and respects their choices.
