Ed Sheeran announces 7th studio album “Autumn Variations” exploring a range of emotions

Ed Sheeran is set to release his seventh studio album, titled “Autumn Variations,” on September 29.

The album, consisting of 14 tracks, comes just four months after his sixth album, Subtract

Sheeran took to Instagram to share that the album explores a range of emotions including love, heartbreak, depression and loneliness, all of which he and his friends experienced recently.

Reflecting on the inspiration behind the album, Sheeran wrote, “Last autumn, I found that my friends and I were going through so many life changes…everything either calmed, settled, fell apart, came to a head, or imploded.”

Drawing parallels to composer Edward Elgar’s Enigma Variations, Sheeran’s album is a musical portrayal of different perspectives.

Collaborating with American songwriter and producer Aaron Dessner from rock band The National, Sheeran praised their partnership, revealing, “I feel he has captured the feeling of autumn so wonderfully in his sonics and I hope everyone loves it as much as I do.”

The album comes as a reflection of changing seasons and personal growth, as Sheeran’s music delves into the intricate complexities of human emotions.

With the anticipation building, fans can look forward to immersing themselves in Ed Sheeran’s musical journey through the upcoming ‘Autumn Variations.’
