Drake, SZA collaborate on single “Slime You”

Drake and SZA have joined forces for a hotly anticipated new single titled “Slime You”. This enticing collaboration marks the first glimpse into Drake’s upcoming album, “For All The Dogs”, which follows his 2022 hit record Honestly, Nevermind.

Drake teased the track on his Instagram account earlier this week. He posted an image from the 2012 Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Awards, featuring Halle Berry getting slimed, and tagged SZA. The “SOS” singer reciprocated by sharing the same image on her social media, tagging Drake in the process.

Adding a touch of nostalgia to the mix, the duo’s history also made headlines. Drake and SZA dated in 2009, with SZA clarifying the timeline after Drake’s mention of ’08 in his 2020 track “Mr. Right Now”. SZA confirmed it was 2009, emphasising the poetic licence taken in Drake’s rhymes.

While fans eagerly anticipated the album’s release on September 22, Drake had to make a tough decision. He announced that “For All The Dogs” would now drop on October 6. In an Instagram post, he explained his dilemma: whether to cancel shows to finish the album or complete the mission and release the album before his last show. Drake ultimately decided to give fans both the music and the memories, opting for the October release date to ensure both the album and live shows are top-notch.

This collaboration and release shift have fans buzzing, eagerly awaiting what promises to be another chart-topping album from Drake.
